Automotive component major Jaya Hind Industries has announced a Rs.200 crore expansion of its die-casting facility in Chennai, strengthening its manufacturing footprint in southern India. 

The expansion is aimed at catering to rising demand from electric vehicle (EV) and premium internal combustion engine (ICE) segments, with a focus on lightweight aluminium components. 

The Chennai plant plays a strategic role in supplying OEMs located in Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states. 

The investment is expected to add new production lines, advanced automation and machining capabilities. 

It also supports the government’s Make in India push by increasing local value addition in auto components.
