Andhra Pradesh government approves JSW AP Steel plant in Kadapa district

The government of Andhra Pradesh has given its approval for the construction of a large integrated steel plant by JSW AP Steel Limited in the Kadapa district. The project will be built in two phases and is a significant boost for industrial development in the region.

The first phase, expected to begin in January 2026, will involve an investment of Rs 4,500 crore (approximately US516million).ProductionfromthisphaseistargetedtostartbyApril2029.Thesecondphase,withaninvestmentof₹16,350crore(approximatelyUS1.80 billion), is planned to start in January 2031, with production by April 2034.

The state government has agreed to provide 1,100 acres of land for the plant at a price of ₹5 lakh per acre.

It will also ensure the supply of essential resources like electricity, water, and other necessary infrastructure. This approval shows the government's commitment to supporting large-scale industrial projects that can create jobs and drive economic growth in Andhra Pradesh.
