Power Generation  -  Sep 11,2025  -

The ACME Group, a leading renewable energy company, has formalized a joint venture with Japan’s IHI Corporation to establish India's largest green ammonia production facility in Gopalpur, located in the Ganjam district of Odisha

The project, with a planned capacity of 1.2 million tonnes per annum, marks a significant milestone in India's clean energy transition.

The investment for the project is estimated at over Rs 5,000 crore.

The partnership combines ACME’s extensive expertise in solar power and green hydrogen production with IHI’s advanced technology in green ammonia storage and export terminals.

The entire output from the plant will be earmarked for export to international markets, including Japan, which is actively seeking to decarbonize its industrial sector.

This venture not only positions India as a key player in the global green fuel market but also sets a new benchmark for large-scale renewable energy projects in the country.

The project is expected to create hundreds of jobs and stimulate ancillary industries in the region
