ABB to invest about $75 million in India to expand manufacturing and R&D

Industrial Services  -  Mar 10,2026  -

Global technology company ABB will invest approximately $75 million (around Rs. 620 crore) in India during 2026 to expand its manufacturing and research and development capabilities.

The investment will support ABB’s electrification, motion, and automation businesses and strengthen local production under its “local-for-local” strategy, with about 85% of its products sold in India already manufactured domestically.

Expansion projects will be implemented across facilities in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nashik, and Vadodara, focusing on equipment used in renewable energy, metro rail systems, data centres, and industrial automation.

The programme is expected to create more than 300 skilled jobs in engineering, research, and operations.

The investment reflects growing demand for electrification and automation solutions in India’s infrastructure and industrial sectors.
