US-based Varex Imaging has announced the establishment of an advanced X-ray component manufacturing facility in Visakhapatnam, reinforcing India’s growing role in the global medical imaging supply chain. 

The new unit will manufacture critical X-ray tubes and components used in diagnostic imaging systems, supporting both domestic demand and exports. 

The investment complements Andhra Pradesh’s focus on attracting high-technology manufacturing under its medical devices policy. 

The facility is also expected to enhance local supplier ecosystems and improve India’s self-reliance in high-end medical equipment manufacturing.
