Manufacturing  -  Jun 19,2025  -

Uttar Pradesh is building its first plastic park in Gorakhpur, on a large piece of land near the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. This park is part of a plan from the Indian government to help India make and sell more plastic goods around the world.

It's one of ten such plastic parks approved across the country. The park is being built by the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), and many of the available spots for factories have already been taken.

The main goals of this park are to help companies that make plastic products, attract new investments, make more plastic items for sale both in India and abroad, and create jobs.
Some factories have already started working. The Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, is planning to officially open three big companies that have invested a total of Rs 120 crore.

The biggest investor is Technoplast Packaging Private Limited, which put in Rs 96 crore and created 250 jobs. Next is Om Flax Industries Private Limited with Rs 17 crore and 50 jobs, and Gajanan Polyplast with Rs 7 crore and 25 jobs.

Three more private companies – APL Apollo Tubes Limited, Greentech Bharat Private Limited (SLMG Group), and Kapila Agro Industries – have also bought land. Together, they will invest Rs 640 crore and create 1,200 direct and indirect jobs.
