Ultraviolette Automotive to boost production capacity

Automotive Industries  -  Jun 17,2025  -

Ultraviolette Automotive, an electric vehicle and battery technology company based in Bengaluru, has announced plans to significantly increase its manufacturing capacity to meet both local and international needs. The company currently has a small-scale production facility in Bengaluru that can produce 30,000 units each year.

"Towards the latter part of this year, we will begin our production expansion," said Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette. The company is talking with several state governments about setting up a larger manufacturing unit that will support its wider range of products and long-term growth. Subramaniam added, "We are working backward from our 2028 goal of achieving an annual production capacity of over three lakh vehicles. The current expansion is designed keeping that target in mind. The new facility should factor in the foreseeable growth of the company.”

The planned manufacturing expansion is key to Ultraviolette’s international growth strategy, with Europe identified as a major market. Target countries include Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK. Ultraviolette’s expansion aligns with India’s growing electric mobility sector and highlights its aim to become a significant global player in the EV industry.
