UFlex plans a significant capacity expansion in Karnataka with a capex commitment north of Rs. 700 crore to scale packaging-film production, responding to robust domestic demand and downstream packaging needs across FMCG, pharma and e-commerce segments. 

The expansion will boost local film output and is likely to include technology upgrades to produce higher-barrier and speciality films, reducing import dependence and improving lead times for large Indian converters and brands.

This investment underscores resilient growth in flexible packaging and the push by Indian suppliers to capture more value along the supply chain through backward integration and capacity modernisation. 

The project may also create local employment and strengthen Karnataka’s manufacturing cluster for polymer processing and packaging materials.
