Three major road projects approved in Jharkhand

Industrial Services  -  Jul 22,2025  -

Jharkhand is set to see a significant boost in its road infrastructure with the approval of three major urban infrastructure projects aimed at alleviating traffic congestion and modernizing the transport network, particularly in Ranchi.

These approvals come as part of a broader push for infrastructure development in the state.

The projects, recently approved by Chief Minister Hemant Soren based on proposals from the Road Construction Department, include:

1) Elevated Flyover from Argora Chowk to Chapu Toli via Kathalmod

2) Flyover from Karamtoli Chowk to Science City with Four-Lane Road:

3) Alternative Four-Lane Corridor from Ranchi Railway Station to Airport:

Chief Minister Soren has directed the preparation of detailed project reports (DPRs) and emphasized initiating work at the earliest.

He also indicated that proposals for additional flyovers, such as one from Harmu Mukti Dham to Radisson Blu and another across the Subarnarekha River from Hinoo Bridge to Jagannathpur, are under consideration.

Similar traffic improvement plans are also being drafted for other towns like Jamshedpur and Daltonganj.

These projects are part of a larger infrastructure drive in Jharkhand. Recently, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 11 National Highway projects worth Rs 6,350 crore in Jharkhand, further underscoring the commitment to improving connectivity and economic growth in the state.
