Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has received a major boost to its aviation infrastructure with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) granting approval to build a new hangar for global aircraft maintenance. 

This landmark approval paves the way for the airport to establish a state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility, positioning it as a key hub for international aircraft maintenance. 

The new hangar will enable the airport to handle a wide range of aircraft, attracting business from global airlines and creating new employment opportunities for skilled aviation professionals. 

Airport authorities stated that this development is a significant step in the long-term strategy to diversify the airport’s services and enhance its role in the global aviation ecosystem.
