Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has secured a deal to supply 80 MW of firm, dispatchable renewable energy to Tata Power’s Mumbai distribution business. 

This step reflects Tata Power’s commitment to green energy integration and ensuring reliable, sustainable power for Mumbai, one of India’s largest urban centers. 

India is pursuing ambitious targets to achieve 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, and projects like this are critical to achieving that vision. 

The agreement also highlights the growing importance of firm renewable energy solutions—hybrid systems or storage-backed solutions that guarantee consistent supply—in India’s power sector transition.
