Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) has commissioned a new 3 MTPA Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) at its Angul facility, raising the plant’s total capacity to 9 MTPA. 

This expansion marks a significant stride in JSPL’s growth strategy and supports India’s ambitions to become a global steel manufacturing hub. 

India is already the second-largest steel producer in the world, and expansions like these are crucial to meeting rising domestic demand driven by infrastructure, construction, and automotive sectors. 

The investment strengthens JSPL’s ability to participate more competitively in international markets while aligning with India’s push for self-reliance in core industrial sectors.
