Tata Motors and TPREL sign agreement for wind-solar power

Power Generation  -  Apr 22,2025  -

Tata Motors and Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) have signed an agreement to build a 131 MW project that combines wind and solar power.

This project is expected to create about 300 million units of clean electricity each year. This will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over two lakh tonnes annually.

The power from this project will go to Tata Motors' factories in Maharashtra and Gujarat. This shows the company's dedication to making its vehicles in a sustainable way.

Using this combined wind and solar power will provide a steady and affordable energy supply to six factories, helping them switch significantly to green manufacturing.

Pramod Choudhary, Vice President at Tata Motors, said that this agreement will help the company's plants in Maharashtra and Gujarat make a big step towards green manufacturing and support India's move to cleaner energy.

This partnership between Tata Motors and Tata Power is also helping the industrial sector in India adopt clean energy faster.
