Senvion India receives 420 MW wind turbine order

Automotive Industries  -  May 19,2025  -

Senvion India has received a firm order from Continuum Green Energy for 100 units of its 4.2M160 wind turbines, converting a previously conditional agreement into a confirmed 420-MW deal.

CEO and Managing Director of Senvion India Amit Kansal said “The turbines are specially designed for Indian wind conditions and environment. With planned capacities of 2GW in 2026, Senvion plans to deploy the turbines extensively in India, leading to creating local jobs and energy security for the country."

The order, originally signed in September 2024, included 50 turbines and an option for Continuum to purchase another 50 units. Turbine deliveries will start in April 2026.

The units will be deployed across project sites identified by Senvion and developed by Continuum. These maybe located in the state of Gujarat or Karnataka, according to the September announcement.

The 4.2M160 is Senvion’s most advanced onshore platform, featuring a 160-metre rotor and flexible hub heights. Over 85% of its components will be sourced locally in India, the company said.
