Power Generation  -  Jul 15,2025  -

SAEL Industries Ltd. has announced a monumental investment of approximately Rs 8,000 to Rs 8,200 crore (around $955 million) to establish a state-of-the-art solar manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

This ambitious project marks a major leap towards fortifying the nation's domestic solar supply chain and accelerating its clean energy transition.

The sprawling facility, to be set up under the jurisdiction of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), will be a fully integrated complex, boasting a 5 GW (Gigawatt) solar cell manufacturing unit and an equally impressive 5 GW solar module production line.

A key highlight of the plant will be its focus on producing high-efficiency TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) solar cells, a cutting-edge technology known for its superior performance and energy conversion capabilities.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended a "Letter of Comfort" to SAEL Industries Co-Founder and Director Sukhbir Singh Awla, underscoring the state's unwavering commitment to fostering renewable energy growth.

Construction of this landmark project is slated to commence within the current year (2024), setting the stage for a new era of solar manufacturing in the region
