Renault India has opened a large new design studio in Chennai as part of its 'renault.rethink' plan to strengthen its position in the country. The 1,500 sq meter facility is their biggest design center outside France.

Focused on the Indian market, the studio will design vehicles tailored for local customers while also assisting global design efforts. It's equipped with advanced tools like virtual reality, aiming to blend European design with Indian tastes and expectations.

Laurens van den Acker, Renault Group's Chief Design Officer, highlighted that an Indian design center helps understand local needs and create relevant mobility solutions, combining local insights with global innovation.

This move aligns with Renault recently taking full ownership of its manufacturing plant and updating its Indian dealerships under its new worldwide brand direction.
