Reliance Infrastructure receives LoA for 390 MW solar project with BESS from NHPC

Power Generation  -  Aug 19,2025  -

Reliance Infrastructure has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the state-owned NHPC for a 390 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar power project, which includes a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project is estimated to be valued at around Rs 4,000 crore.

This win is a significant step for Reliance Group's clean energy ambitions. Once commissioned, the project will add 700 MWp of solar DC capacity and 780 MWh of BESS capacity to the group's portfolio. The successful bid, with a winning tariff of Rs 3.13 per kWh, positions the project among the most competitively priced offerings in India's energy transition landscape.

The project is part of a larger 1,200 MW solar tender floated by NHPC. With this addition, the combined clean energy pipeline of the Reliance Group will exceed 3 GWp of solar DC capacity and 3.5 GWh of BESS capacity, making it a leading player in India's integrated solar and BESS segment.

This milestone reinforces the company's commitment to India's sustainable energy future and its strategic vision to transition towards cleaner energy sources.
