Prime Minister Modi lays foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 13,480 crore in Bihar

During his visit to Bihar, the Prime Minister officially opened, laid the foundation stone for, and dedicated to the country several development projects valued at over Rs 13,480 crore. 

The projects that were started or inaugurated include an LPG bottling plant in Gopalganj, projects for providing electricity, housing plans, railway improvements, and road building.

He also opened railway projects worth Rs 870 crore and flagged off four trains during his visit to Bihar.

The Prime Minister flagged off the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail service between Jaynagar and Patna, and the Amrit Bharat Express train between Saharsa and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai. This was done through a video call during an event in Madhubani marking National Panchayati Raj Day.

This is the second Namo Bharat train in the country, and the start of the Amrit Bharat Express is the third such train service. Also, the Prime Minister flagged off two passenger trains – one going from Saharsa to Pipra and another from Samastipur to Saharsa.

During the event, railway lines connecting Supaul and Pipra, Hasanpur and Bithan, and Khagaria and Alauli were also dedicated to the nation. These projects are meant to improve connections and help the overall social and economic growth of the area.

On National Panchayati Raj Day, Modi recognized several local village representatives for their creative and excellent work for Panchayats at Bideshwar Sthan in Jhanjharpur.

The Prime Minister gave out Special Category National Panchayat Awards 2025 on this day in different groups to representatives from Bihar, Odisha, Kerala, Telangana, and Assam.
