Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Micron Technology’s Rs. 22,516 crore Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP) semiconductor facility in Gujarat.

Calling semiconductor chips the “regulator of the 21st century,” the Prime Minister said the investment marks a significant milestone in India’s semiconductor journey.

The facility will focus on memory and storage product assembly and testing for global markets.

Officials noted that the project represents one of the largest semiconductor investments in India to date.

The plant is expected to generate substantial employment and strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
