Pipeline planned from Visakhapatnam to fuel Bhogapuram International Airport

Infrastructure  -  Nov 05,2025  -

A new fuel pipeline from Visakhapatnam is being planned to supply aviation turbine fuel (ATF) directly to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh.

The project aims to ensure reliable and cost-efficient fuel logistics for the region’s aviation and industrial sectors.

The pipeline will connect Visakhapatnam’s petroleum infrastructure with the Bhogapuram airport’s fuel farm, reducing dependence on road-based fuel transport.

This initiative is part of the state’s strategy to integrate its energy and transport infrastructure for faster industrial growth.

Once operational, the pipeline is expected to significantly reduce aviation fuel costs and enhance safety standards. It will also help position Bhogapuram as a major regional aviation hub supporting both passenger and cargo operations.

The project reflects Andhra’s broader infrastructure agenda, aligning with recent port, airport, and logistics corridor developments aimed at transforming the state into an industrial gateway for Southeast Asia.
