Odisha signs pacts for Gopalpur port expansion, setting up jetty near Paradip

Infrastructure  -  Jun 27,2025  -

The Odisha government has taken significant steps to boost its maritime infrastructure by signing two major concession agreements.

These agreements, totaling an investment of Rs 18,654 crore, are projected to create approximately 8,450 direct and indirect jobs.

Gopalpur Port is strategically located between Paradip and Visakhapatnam ports, making it a crucial link for import-export operations and future industrial corridors on India's east coast. Adani Ports will also submit a master plan to develop Gopalpur as a mega port.

This captive jetty will enhance JSW's logistics capabilities by ensuring seamless maritime access for raw materials and finished goods, thereby improving operational efficiency and reducing reliance on external ports.

The jetty is expected to handle 52 million metric tonnes of cargo annually.  This project is anticipated to create around 3,450 direct and indirect jobs.
