The Odisha government has approved fiscal support for the first phase of RIR Power Electronics' Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductor manufacturing facility in Bhubaneswar. 

This project, which has a total estimated cost of Rs 618 crore, is a major step toward enhancing India's self-reliance in critical semiconductor technology. 

RIR Power Electronics will manufacture high-power SiC MOSFETs, IGBTs, and diodes ranging from 3.3 kV to 20 kV, catering to industries like electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy, and power electronics.

The government's support is expected to attract further investments, create high-skilled jobs, and position Odisha as a key player in India's growing high-tech manufacturing sector. 

The new facility will contribute significantly to the "Make in India" initiative and drive sustainable industrial growth.
