State-owned power major NTPC has added 359.585 MW of solar capacity, taking its total commercial power generation capacity to 85.5 GW. 

The addition underscores NTPC’s accelerating shift towards renewable energy as part of its long-term target of achieving 60 GW of renewable capacity by 2032. 

Renewable energy now forms an increasing share of NTPC’s overall portfolio. 

The expansion also supports India’s commitment to reduce carbon intensity while ensuring reliable base-load power through a balanced energy mix.
