Nittan India expands Sri City plant, doubles auto-valve output

Automotive Industries  -  Oct 27,2025  -

Nittan India (the Indian arm of Japan’s Nittan Valve) has invested around Rs 41 crore to expand its Sri City facility in Andhra Pradesh.

The plant’s monthly output is expected to rise from ~1 million to ~2 million automotive valves, enhancing its capacity to serve domestic OEMs and export markets.

Manufacturing in the auto-components segment is increasingly shifting to India thanks to robust vehicle demand, cost advantages and localisation policies. Nittan’s move signals confidence in India’s role as a global supply hub for precision components.

The expansion will also create additional employment and support the regional ecosystem of suppliers, testing labs and specialist tooling firms. Andhra’s industrial corridor offers strategic logistics connectivity to Chennai port, helping exports.

Nittan will need to navigate global raw-material cost fluctuations (steel, aluminium), manage labour productivity and maintain stringent quality standards to meet premium customer expectations.
