NHAI invites bids for four-lane development on NH-927

Infrastructure  -  Dec 01,2025  -

NHAI has invited bids for four-laning a 43.7 km stretch of NH-927 between Barabanki and Mustafabad in Uttar Pradesh under the hybrid annuity model. The project, costing around Rs. 1,690 crore, aims to improve connectivity in eastern UP and support smoother freight movement. Bid submissions are due in early 2026, and the scope includes earthwork, structures, service roads, and safety infrastructure.

The corridor is part of a key regional link that connects agricultural belts and upcoming industrial nodes with national logistics routes. Once completed, the stretch will reduce travel time, enhance transport reliability, and support socio-economic development in the region. Improved road conditions are expected to stimulate local business activity and improve access to markets.

The greenfield expansion fits into NHAI’s larger Bharatmala strategy focused on strengthening high-traffic corridors and reducing bottlenecks. With increased emphasis on HAM and PPP models, the project also opens opportunities for construction firms and highway operators. It will generate construction employment and boost ancillary businesses during the build-out phase.
