Infrastructure  -  Aug 01,2025  -

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) is slated for a major transformation with the construction of a new integrated terminal building (NITB) set to commence by March 2026.

The project, estimated to cost Rs 3,130 crore, will be executed in two phases and is expected to be completed by 2036.

The new terminal, which will be built at the current Gujsail terminal location, is designed to significantly increase the airport's passenger handling capacity from 1.2 crore to 2 crore annually.

It will feature modern amenities such as expanded lounges, more check-in counters, additional security checkpoints, and at least 10 aerobridges, with the integration of DigiYatra technology to streamline the passenger experience.
