New Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad to come up at a cost of Rs 1,667 crore

The new Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in Hyderabad is expected to be finished in 30 months and will cost an estimated Rs 1,667 crore. This information comes from the tender issued by the Roads and Buildings Department.

This new facility will have 12 floors, including two basement levels for parking. It will cover a huge area of 23.42 lakh square feet. Of the total cost, Rs 979 crore is set aside for the main hospital building. Other major costs include Rs 103 crore for male and female hostels, Rs 72 crore for an academic building, Rs 54 crore for utilities, and Rs 17 crore for a guest house (dharmashala). 

Basic infrastructure like roads and drainage are estimated at Rs 10 crore, while Rs eight crore is for covering open drains. The project also covers the mortuary, boundary wall, and security gates.

Money for water and sanitation systems is budgeted at Rs 24 crore. Electro-mechanical systems, which include power, elevators, and air conditioning, are allocated Rs 384 crore. The hostels and academic buildings will vary from eight to 12 floors. Construction will follow four main milestones at 9, 18, 24, and 30 months.
