Max Aerospace to establish Rs 8,000 crore helicopter factory in Nagpur

Infrastructure  -  Jun 16,2025  -

Max Aerospace & Aviation Private Limited and the Maharashtra state industries department have signed an agreement to build a helicopter manufacturing plant with an investment of Rs 8,000 crore.

The agreement was signed by P Anbalagan, the industries secretary, and Bharat Malkani, the chairman of Max Aerospace, with the chief minister and other senior officials present.

Based on the agreement, Max Aerospace will set up the helicopter manufacturing plant in Nagpur, with operations expected to begin in 2026. This project is expected to create about 2,000 direct and indirect jobs and involve an investment of around Rs 8,000 crore over the next eight years.

This will be Maharashtra’s first project specifically for customizing and fully producing helicopters. With this effort, Maharashtra will become a key hub for aerospace manufacturing.

The project will serve as a specialized center for customizing, putting together, and flight testing rotary-wing aircraft.

Since the center will be close to Nagpur airport, it will benefit from the existing facilities and logistics support. This will also help India’s growing aerospace supply chain.
