Maruti Suzuki India’s board has approved the acquisition of land in Gujarat at an estimated cost of Rs.4,960 crore to support future capacity expansion. 

The decision reflects the company’s confidence in sustained demand growth across passenger vehicle segments, including compact cars, SUVs, and exports

Gujarat remains a preferred manufacturing base due to its strong infrastructure, port access, and policy stability. 

The land bank will allow flexibility for setting up new vehicle platforms, EV-related facilities, and supplier parks. 

Over the long term, the expansion is expected to enhance production scalability and strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s global supply-chain positioning.
