The coastal city of Mangaluru is aggressively positioning itself as the country's next major technology hub, driven by ambitious government and industry plans unveiled at the Technovanza 2025 summit.

Terming the city the "Silicon Beach of India," state officials outlined a long-term vision to generate 200,000 tech jobs and achieve Rs 40,000 crore (approximately $4.8 billion) in annual tech exports by 2034.
The roadmap, part of the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission’s (KDEM) ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ initiative, aims to establish over 4,000 startups and pivot the region into a center for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Clean Energy, and Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM).

Technovanza 2025 also served as a launchpad for new deep-tech startups and celebrated winners of the government’s 'Elevate' funding programme, underscoring a thriving local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
