Maharashtra clears Rs 4,800 crore guarantee for Nagpur outer ring road land acquisition

Infrastructure  -  Oct 14,2025  -

The Maharashtra government has approved a Rs 4,800 crore state guarantee to facilitate a HUDCO loan for land acquisition tied to Nagpur’s proposed 148-kilometre Outer Ring Road.

The total project cost is estimated at Rs 13,748 crore, with Rs 8,948 crore earmarked for construction and Rs 4,800 crore for acquiring land across 99 villages.

The road, planned to be 120 metres wide, will connect Nagpur to major national highways including the Samruddhi Mahamarg, Hyderabad, Amravati, Bhopal, and Jabalpur corridors.

Four integrated transport terminals for trucks and buses are also part of the plan.

Officials said the move will decongest urban traffic and strengthen Nagpur’s role as a central logistics hub in Maharashtra.

The project forms part of the state’s larger strategy to boost regional connectivity and attract logistics and warehousing investments.
