Ludhiana textile company to invest Rs 2,500 crore in Basai Industrial Area

Textiles  -  Aug 12,2025  -

A Ludhiana-based textile company is set to make a significant investment of Rs 2,500 crore to establish a state-of-the-art, integrated textile unit in the new Basai industrial area in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh.

The company has acquired a 25-hectare plot for the facility. This is a key part of the larger development of the Basai industrial area, which spans 178.83 hectares and has a development cost of approximately Rs 89 crore.

The entire park is expected to attract over Rs 5,000 crore in investments and create an estimated 8,000 jobs, providing a significant boost to the region's economy.

In recent months, textile units from Punjab and Rajasthan have shown interest in Mandsaur and Neemuch districts, with garment, ethanol, and food industries making site visits, though land allotments remain pending. Development work at Basai is expected to commence in Q2 of this financial year.

Another multi-product industrial area is coming up at Chitakheda in Neemuch. Industry representatives have urged the government to ensure essential infrastructure like transport links, uninterrupted utilities, and police presence in industrial belts.
