KPI Green Energy wins Rs. 489 crore floating solar project in Gujarat

Power Generation  -  Dec 03,2025  -

KPI Green Energy has secured a Rs. 489 crore EPC contract for a 142 MW floating solar project at the Kadana Dam reservoir in Gujarat.

The scope includes full engineering, procurement, construction, and a 10-year O&M responsibility, ensuring long-term system reliability.

This project adds momentum to Gujarat’s clean-energy expansion and supports the state’s strategy to diversify renewable capacity.

Floating solar infrastructure helps optimize reservoir surface area while reducing evaporation and improving overall generation efficiency.

The Kadana project is expected to integrate advanced anchoring systems and high-performance floating structures designed for variable water levels.

This approach minimizes land-use challenges, making the plant ideal for regions with limited available terrain.

The company plans to deploy high-efficiency solar modules and inverter systems tailored for water-based installations.

Work is expected to be completed within 18 months, contributing significantly to Gujarat’s renewable energy output upon commissioning.
