JSW Defence is setting up a USD 90 million next-generation military drone manufacturing facility at EMC Maheshwaram in Hyderabad. 

The plant will manufacture advanced Group-3 UAVs under a long-term technology-transfer arrangement with Shield AI, enabling India to locally produce high-end surveillance and tactical drones. 

This initiative aligns with the country’s defence modernisation strategy and strengthens domestic capability in unmanned aircraft production.

The facility will incorporate assembly, integration, testing, maintenance, and operator-training infrastructure, making it a comprehensive ecosystem for drone lifecycle management. 

By establishing end-to-end capability within India, JSW aims to reduce import dependence and build a robust national supply chain for defence aviation components.
