Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port has signed an agreement with East Horizon for a Rs. 260 crore floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) project at Haldia.

The project will enable handling and regasification of liquefied natural gas to support energy demand in eastern India.

Officials said the facility will enhance port capabilities and strengthen LNG infrastructure in the region.

The project will be implemented through a partnership model. The development is expected to improve gas supply to industrial consumers.
