Engineering major Kilburn Engineering Ltd has secured a Rs. 8,787 crore contract from the Heavy Water Board Facility (HWBF) to set up a sophisticated chemical-process plant. 

The project involves high-precision industrial systems for heavy-water and chemical-intermediate production, strengthening India’s capabilities in nuclear-linked and specialty-chemical infrastructure. 

The contract underscores the growing demand for indigenous process-engineering expertise as India ramps up advanced-materials manufacturing under its “Make in India for Defence & Energy” initiative.
