JSW Infrastructure secures Rs 740 crore project from Kolkata port

Infrastructure  -  Jul 08,2025  -

JSW Infrastructure has been awarded a Rs 740 crore project by the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority (Kolkata Port). The project involves the reconstruction of Berth 8 and the mechanization of Berths 7 and 8 at Netaji Subhas Dock in Kolkata.

This project is on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) basis under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with a concession period of 30 years. The primary aim is to significantly enhance the container handling capacity and operational efficiency at the port.

The estimated capital expenditure for the project is Rs 740 crore, and the construction is expected to be completed within two years. JSW Infrastructure plans to commence operations even during the construction phase to leverage Kolkata's consistent cargo volumes.

This development aligns with JSW Infrastructure's strategy to expand its terminal portfolio under the government's port privatization initiative and diversify its cargo mix, particularly in the container segment.
