JSW Energy has signed a power purchase agreement for a 1,600 MW thermal power project in West Bengal through its subsidiary.

The PPA provides revenue visibility for a project that has been in the planning pipeline.

Despite rapid renewable capacity additions, thermal power continues to anchor grid stability.

The project is expected to play a baseload role in eastern India’s power mix.
 

It underlines the continuing relevance of thermal assets in India’s transition phase.
