Ircon International has been awarded a ₹510.46 crore contract for the construction of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) at eight different locations in Meghalaya. 

The contract, received from the Meghalaya Infrastructure Development & Finance Corporation, is on a Design, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis and has a completion timeline of 36 months. 

The project is part of a government initiative to provide quality residential education to tribal students in remote regions, and the contract reinforces Ircon's diversified presence in the infrastructure sector beyond its traditional focus on railways.
