Centre approves Rs 12,328 crore for rail network expansion across 5 States

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has sanctioned four major railway projects worth a total of Rs 12,328 crore. 

The projects, spanning Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana, Bihar, and Assam, will add approximately 565 km to the Indian railway network. 

Key initiatives include a new line in Gujarat connecting the Rann of Kutch, a third and fourth line between Secunderabad-Wadi, a third line from Bhagalpur to Jamalpur, and the doubling of the Furkating-New Tinsukia line in Assam. 

The projects are aligned with the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan and are aimed at improving connectivity, reducing logistics costs, and enhancing freight and passenger handling capacity.
