Indian Hotels subsidiary receives key approval for Taj Bandstand project in Mumbai

Hospitality and Healthcare  -  Sep 25,2025  -

A subsidiary of Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has received regulatory approval for the Taj Bandstand luxury hotel project in Mumbai.

The development is expected to enhance Mumbai’s high-end hospitality sector, create hundreds of jobs, and attract premium tourists.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held earlier this year, saw the presence of prominent figures, including Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Taj Bandstand is part of IHCL’s broader expansion strategy in urban luxury destinations, complementing other projects in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

With the addition of Taj Bandstand, Mumbai will become the city with the highest number of IHCL properties in the country. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2029.
