The government has opened up 80,228 square kilometres of area for oil and gas exploration under the OALP XI round.

The offering includes both onshore and offshore blocks aimed at boosting domestic hydrocarbon production.

India is actively expanding exploration efforts to reduce reliance on energy imports.

The move is expected to attract participation from both domestic and global energy companies.
