Manufacturing  -  May 23,2025  -

Himadri Speciality Chemical has invested USD 4.43 million to acquire a 16.24 percent stake in International Battery Company (IBC).
The investment marks the commercial deployment of Himadri’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode active and anode materials.

The deal also grants Himadri a seat on IBC’s board, reinforcing its strategic involvement in the company’s growth.

IBC which operates a 50 MWh lithium-ion battery facility in South Korea, is also developing a large-scale Gigafactory in Bengaluru, India, in partnership with Mahanagar Gas.

This new facility is expected to commence operations in Q4/FY26 and will cater to last-mile fleet operators and two- and three-wheeler OEMs, in addition to serving export  requirements globally.

This partnership provides Himadri with access to IBC’s robust manufacturing infrastructure and diverse customer base across the U.S., India, and East Asia.
