HFCL announces major expansion of IBR cable manufacturing capacity

Manufacturing  -  Jul 15,2025  -

Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited   (HFCL), has announced a significant expansion of its Intermittent Bonded Ribbon (IBR) cable manufacturing capacity.

This strategic move, approved by the company's board, is aimed at capitalizing on the growing global demand for high-performance optical fiber cables, particularly from North America and Europe.

The company plans to enhance its IBR cable manufacturing capacity from approximately 1.73 million fiber kilometers per annum (mfkm/p.a.) to an impressive 19.01 mfkm/p.a.

This substantial increase represents a major leap in HFCL's capabilities within this specialized and high-growth segment.

The expansion will involve an estimated investment/capex of approximately Rs 125.55 crore. This will be funded through a combination of debt and internal accruals.

The expanded capacity will be established across HFCL's existing facilities in Hyderabad and Goa.
