Gujarat is rapidly solidifying its role as a key player in India's semiconductor industry. CG Semi Pvt Ltd is set to start pilot operations at its outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing (OSAT) facility in Sanand GIDC next week. 

This comes after a Rs 7,600 crore investment from the company. The facility, which will be the first of its kind in India, will feature a qualification line ahead of full-scale production. 

This is happening as other major players, including Micron Technology and Kaynes Semicon, are also progressing with their projects in the state.  

With multiple OSAT/ATMP/chip packaging plants in operation or under construction, Gujarat is emerging as a formidable center for semiconductor manufacturing.
