Goodluck Defence receives approval to manufacture artillery shells

Manufacturing  -  Oct 06,2025  -

Goodluck Defence & Aerospace, a subsidiary of Goodluck India, has received a license under the Arms Act to manufacture medium-caliber artillery shells ranging from 105 mm to 155 mm.

These include advanced Extended Range Full Bore (ERFB) and Base Bleed (BB) designs, widely used in modern artillery systems.

The company plans to begin trial production in Q3 FY26, targeting an annual output of 150,000 shells. India’s artillery modernization program, along with the Ukraine conflict’s impact on global ammunition demand, has increased focus on expanding domestic production.

Goodluck has also joined a consortium with BrahMos Aerospace and Axiscades Technologies to participate in the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program, India’s fifth-generation fighter initiative. The approval enhances Goodluck’s role in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem and reduces reliance on imports of critical munitions.
