This project involves setting up an additional 1x350 MW power unit and its related systems. This new unit will be the fourth unit of the Kamalanga thermal power project, located in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha.

The work includes designing, engineering, making, testing in the factory, supplying, and supervising the setup, installation, connection, on-site testing, and starting up of the BTG (Boiler, Turbine, Generator) package and BOP (Balance of Plant) package. GMR Kamalanga Energy has already built a 3x350 MW coal-fired power project in Kamalanga village, Dhenkanal district. All three of these units started operating commercially on April 30, 2013, November 12, 2013, and March 25, 2014, respectively. The fourth unit is planned to be completed within 24 months from the official start date.
