GHCL Textiles Limited has invested Rs 215 crore in expanding its manufacturing facility. The company recently commenced commercial production at its new, fully-automated "Meenakshi" section at the Paravai unit in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

This expansion has added 25,536 ring spindles, increasing GHCL Textiles' total installed capacity to 2,24,976 ring spindles. The existing capacity was operating at a high utilization rate of 99%, highlighting the need for this timely augmentation.

The investment of Rs 215 crore was funded through internal accruals. This strategic move aligns with GHCL Textiles' long-term vision to strengthen its leadership in the Indian textile manufacturing sector and cater more effectively to both domestic and international markets. 

R.S. Jalan, Director, GHCL Textiles, stated that this capacity enhancement not only supports their business expansion plans but also reinforces their commitment to delivering superior value to stakeholders and contributing to Tamil Nadu's industrial growth.
