GAIL (India) Ltd. and the Chhattisgarh government have entered into an MoU to establish a 12.7 lakh metric tonne (LMT) gas-based fertilizer plant along the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline (MNJPL). 

This planned gas corridor will serve as a critical energy lifeline, providing the necessary feedstock to scale domestic urea production and reduce the state’s reliance on imported chemicals. 

The project is expected to catalyze regional industrial growth, leveraging GAIL’s expanding pipeline infrastructure to transform Chhattisgarh into a centralized hub for fertilizer manufacturing.
