Electrosteel Castings is set to begin manufacturing advanced precision water valves in India following its recent Rs 150 crore acquisition of Italian firm T.I.S. Service S.p.A. 

The Italian company, now rebranded as T.I.S. – An Electrosteel Enterprise, specializes in flow control equipment. 

This strategic move aims to reduce India's dependence on imported valves for the water sector and aligns with the government's "Make in India" initiative. 

Electrosteel is actively planning the localization of T.I.S. product lines, with its Odisha facility being considered as a potential manufacturing hub.

Madhav Kejriwal, ECL director and president of T.i.S, said,“With this acquisition, Electrosteel now becomes one of the only global players capable of offering both ductile iron pipes and fittings and sophisticated valve technologies under one umbrella.” T.i.S has plants in Italy and Turkey and centres in Italy and Poland.
